The ideal Social Media Analyst will be responsible for developing social  conversational data into insightful findings which contribute to the optimisation of marketing strategies as well as effect lasting change on businesses. The job will include these top four activities: monitor, measure, report and optimise. Key to this role is the ability to provide data-driven insights which result in specific action plans and quantifiable business improvement. The analytics, reporting and insights functions include social listening, content performance as well as user generated conversation.

 

Main Areas of Responsibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critical thinking is vital
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with internal team and client
  • Deconstruct conversations
  • Pin point trends/patterns within consumer behaviour
  • Discover/ identify human truths and insights
  • Story-telling through reporting
  • Understand and inform different departments within digital marketing landscape
  • Give impactful public presentation of insight
  • Supplement and support strategies
  • Management responsibility for team of analysts working in conjunction with Team Lead and Social Business Manager

Specific tasks

Insights Development

  • Develop Insights and Reporting templates
  • Review all Reports
  • Delivering Insights in conjunction with Strategy on brief and accepted quality
  • Delivering work in a presentable manner
  • Ensure everyone on the account understands the Reports and Insights

Insights and Reporting

  • Extract Insights and present Editorial Boards
  • Work with Strategist to update strategies  in line with Editorial Board
  • Ensure accuracy and insightfulness of insights and recommendations
  • Ensuring insights and recomendations are followed through
  • Keep informed on client’s business

Operations : Client relationships

  • Client feedback
  • One proactive client meeting a quarter

Operations :Client profitability

  • Deliver in line with time allocation Identify key opportunities for client growth (present at least 1 PQ)

Projects – Project Support

  • Delivering research on a brief Delivering work in a presentable manner

Process

  • Accurate time logging
  • Backing up work
  • Follow job through each department enabling delivery across teams

 

Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop relationships with partner agencies for knowledge sharing
  • 1blog PQ
  • 1 BBG PQ

IP Development

  • Template development , accuracy and updating

Tools

  • Platform usage, platform analytics, email generation tools,
  • User and configuration experience in common social listening and community management tools like, but not limited to,  Clarabridge, Social Studio, Crimson Hexagon, Fanpage Karma, Conversocial, Netbase, Sprinklr etc
  • Use of Power BI for Data Visualization is a requirement. Training is provided.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in social media strategy and/or analytics                               is essential

Qualifications

  • Degree in (or related to) marketing or communication or commerce

Skills Set

  • Strong background in business intelligence, analytics and marketing a plus
  • Excellent understanding of social and digital marketing
  • Experience with social analytics tools such as Crimson Hexagon, CX Social, Netbase, Sprinklr, Spredfast.
  • Web analytics experience is a plus
  • Data visualisation tools like Power BI is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • Must have the ability to think strategically; able to turn consumer behaviour data into effective insights and observations that drive results
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills are critical
  • Delivery of concise insights
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Versatility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of and ability to keep abreast of new developments within the social media
  • Be passionate about social media
